Some people just put some stuff in a bag and close the door behind them. Yeah, I like that approach, and I do it sometimes. But I like to start a (capital letter) Trip with a list, to have something to look for, to have the topic in the back of my mind.
I start to prepare the trip 2 weeks in advance minimum, if not earlier. Today I change the tires, the next I pass by a DM and buy a new toothbrush, the next I am in a Baumarkt and I find myself checking ties and tools for the trip, and so on.
Today I finished packing. The 2 panniers, the top box and the clothes bag. The bike is ready and so am I.
And there's one more thing. I started last year with the OnRoute project. The stupid inaccurate "follow my trip" to calm down my mum in the Carpathians 2019, becomes my stupid inaccurate motorbike trip log, and this year I have the conviction to try to use it again. And I just reset it to start a new one.
All is set. After all this year, including what the CoronaTimes (tm) has brought, I get lost with the bike (again).
The hype is huge.
Gaz!
